Vetrano Communications is a full-service public relations consulting firm, specializing in component technologies (MEMS, sensors, semiconductors) and embedded systems. Our people are all senior-level consultants with 15-25+ years’ experience. Based in Massachusetts, we also have consultants strategically located in Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia.

Principal


With twenty-five+ years’ experience publicizing component technologies such as MEMS, sensors and semiconductors, Maria Vetrano has vertical market expertise in audio, automotive, biomedical, and imaging/vision. Maria develops strategic communications programs, actualizing plans through traditional public relations and social media programs. She also collaborates closely with talented digital designers on brand identity, newsletters, and web design.

Since launching her consulting practice in 2004, Maria has worked with highly successful startups such as Vesper, Chirp Microsystems and Akustica, with global brands such as Analog DevicesBosch, and NXP, and with innovative technology providers such as Aspinity, Boréas Technologies, Kopin, MicroVision, Omnitron Sensors, PNI Sensor and Rogue Valley Microdevices.

Previously, she held corporate positions that include director of public relations for the DSP division of Analog Devices and vice president of marketing for Phar Lap Software.

Maria runs her virtual PR firm from Massachusetts, collaborating with associates in the United States, Europe and Asia on media campaigns. Her firm offers digital design through trusted partners.

As an organization, Vetrano Communications contributes a portion of its profits to philanthropic causes such as The Sharing Foundation, an organization dedicated to the care and education of Cambodian children, and the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition. Maria Vetrano is also the co-founder of Against the Tide, a nationally recognized swim to fight breast cancer.

Maria received a BA in English from Colgate University. Her first novel, QUEEN BESS: A Tudor Comes to Save America, is published by Regalo Press.

Maria Doyle has three decades of PR, marketing, and writing experience. Maria has assisted companies with leadership positioning in many different areas of technology, including biomedical, MEMS, software, security, machine vision, and sensors. Beyond technology, she has promoted architectural design, healthcare, industrial design, sales training and user-experience firms.

Prior to starting her own business, Maria held corporate PR positions at PTC and NerveWire (now Wipro). She also held the position of vice president of the technology practice for PR firm MSL Group (formerly Rourke & Company), where she worked with both startups and Fortune 100 companies to educate and positively influence media and industry analysts on behalf of her clients.

Maria earned a BS in Marketing with a Communications minor from Northeastern University and an MBA from Bentley University, both with honors.

She lives in Massachusetts.

Anja-Maria Hastenrath

PR Consulting Team Member


Anja-Maria Hastenrath is  principal of her own global PR firm, embedded PR, and is a consulting team member of Vetrano Communications. Prior to founding embedded PR, Anja held the position of director of technology at Porter Novelli Germany. Her previous experience includes a management position at Positio Europe GmbH, a technology-focused PR agency headquartered in San Jose, California.

During her career in PR, Anja has worked with major companies from the semiconductor and MEMS/sensors industry, including Bosch, MACOM, Micronas Semiconductor, SUSS MicroTec and TSMC.

Prior to working in PR, Anja held corporate positions at TSMC’s European headquarters in Amsterdam, Holland and at National Semiconductor in Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany. After receiving in-depth training on products, technology, Q&A issues and sales channels at National Semiconductor, she went on to set up and manage the company’s European technical support center.

Anja studied languages and political science in Germany and business administration in England. She is fluent in English, German and French.
